Need to catch up on philosophy reading, and spend time pondering.

Need to read most of Gravity’s Rainbow.

Need to write an essay on a Drano ad, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, and shame in American culture.

Need to read and critique two short stories, and begin revising my own.

Need to write an epilogue to The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao that provides a post-death commentary from Oscar on the family curse, in regards to fuku and zafa.

Need to critique a short story, and begin planning my own.

Optional objectives: finish Silmarillion, rereading The Inheritors, practice guitar, write letter to friend and send it, free writing, more free reading, etc.

Draft and adhere to schedule, and don’t get carried away writing lists (naturally).

Finished my story, but by how it was received, it was something of a failure. I failed to realize the themes and ideas I wanted to convey. Nonetheless, this is a failure I can build upon, and I’m proud of having done what I did, but now is the time to revise! However…I have other assignments I need to write in the meantime. Pages and pages I owe, a Madame Bovary fanfic epilogue (actual class assignment option, college rools), and another story in between then. I’m thinking of a farce, if only for a breath of fresh air. It will be nice to attempt something easier, but it’s only so in an abstract. Comedy is hard.

I have a story due this afternoon, as in, I am forfeiting sleep, and inserting a caffeine tablet into my mouth every few hours. I love/hate deadlines. I think tumblr has the equivalent of wizard duels, where instead of creative shapeshifting, each blogger tries to one-up each other with a clever reaction image (quip optional).
